One of TAU’s most important duties is representing the union and individual members during the grievance process. This page is meant to offer information on the process, your rights as union members, and the status of current grievances.

Health Care, Article 10 (2013): After receiving two denials from the administration regarding the rising costs of health care, the 2013/2014 executive board determined that we did not have a case for arbitration. This issues is a priority for bargaining our new contract.
Computer Science (2013/2014): We have filed a grievance with the Computer Science department for their current practice of paying hourly wages, outside of a teaching assistantship, to grade projects, assignments and examinations during the 2012-2013 year. It is the unions position, as stated in Article 1, that this action denies the full and proper benefits for a teaching assistantship. We believe this pay-for-grading scheme is contrary to our employment contract. For a look at our grievance letter, please click here. Within a short period of time, the Computer Science department agreed to provide $12,075 in back pay for ten members in the Computer Science Department.
